John S. Dowd & Associates was registered as a business in Santa Cruz, California in 1985. It is a a solely owned proprietorship that has one full time employee; me.
It is the entity under which I conduct my consulting business. I have used the words 'and associates' because, from time to time, I will engage associates to provide specific services to my clients. These might be services that I don't offer or there may be examples where another person can provide a higher quality service than can I. I do not receive any compensation for making these arrangements, they simply represent a service I offer to my clients.
The major focal areas of my consultancy have been consulting, teaching, assessing and writing/publishing. Each of these streams of activity is described in more detail elsewhere in these pages.
In 1996 I began to offer consulting and teaching services from an office in Asia. I have consulted and taught widely throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. I have also done some work in South America and Africa, but very extensively. More recently most of my consulting work has been either in Asia or the United States. I have also published both in the United States and in Asia (Bangkok Post, Asia Times).
